The holiday season is almost here, and finding the perfect gift for your favourite adventurer can be sometimes challenging. To make it easier, we’ve curated a list of practical, inspiring, and thoughtful gifts that are sure to bring joy to anyone who loves the great outdoors. Whether you’re shopping for a hiker, camper, or nature lover, this guide has thoughtful and practical ideas to make their season bright. And maybe yours too :)

Essential Outdoor Gear
The Garmin InReach Mini is a must-have for explorers who venture off-grid. This satellite communicator allows users to send texts, share GPS locations, and trigger SOS signals in emergencies—all without cellular service. It’s compact, lightweight, and built for adventure. We take our Garmin in Reach mini with us whenever we go backpacking and it truly gives us peace of mind. You can not only send, but also receive text messages from family or friends.
Outdoor enthusiasts rely on their devices for navigation, photos, and communication. A high-capacity external charger ensures multiple charges for smartphones, headlamps, or GPS devices, making it essential for long trips. We have been using the Anker Power bank for 3 years now and it is honestly the best external charger, we've ever had. With a capacity of 26k MpH you can easily charge your phone 6 (six!!) times.
6. Collapsible Hiking Poles
Lightweight and adjustable hiking poles are truly a game-changer for tackling uneven terrain or long treks. They reduce strain on joints, improve balance, and are especially useful for winter hikes. We take ours with us whenever we go winter hiking or summer backpacking. They just make carrying a heavy backpack a little less painful.
Every hiker appreciates a good pair of socks, and merino wool is the gold standard. These socks are breathable, moisture-wicking, and regulate temperature, keeping feet comfortable in all conditions. If you have not heard of merino wool and its antibacterial and anti-odour characteristics, we truly recommend researching them a bit! Merino wool is our go to when it comes to hiking clothing. It is actually one of the few materials that keeps you warm even if wet.
8. Crampons
A reliable pair of crampons is a fantastic gift for winter explorers. They provide traction on icy and snowy trails, making hikes safer and more enjoyable in challenging conditions. We have them in our backpacks from October till late June.
Inspiration and Fun

3. Life straw
A LifeStraw is a game-changer for outdoor enthusiasts, providing clean drinking water from any freshwater source. Lightweight and portable, it’s perfect for day hikes, backpacking trips, or emergency preparedness.
Staying hydrated on the trail is crucial, and a high-quality hydration flask makes it easy. And let's be honest. Nalgene bottles are cool.
Accidents happen, and a compact first aid kit can make all the difference. Trail-ready kits often include bandages, antiseptic wipes, blister pads, and survival items like an emergency whistle or blanket.
9. Hiking Trail Book
Inspire future adventures with a book full of stunning hiking destinations. Packed with trail maps, tips, and breathtaking photography, it’s both a guide and a coffee table treasure.
10. AllTrails Yearly Membership
For those who love discovering new trails, an AllTrails Pro membership is the ultimate gift. It offers offline maps, detailed trail reviews, and extra planning tools to make every hike amazing. We use this app almost on a daily basis and is our go to when it comes to seeking inspiration. Plus, with our affiliate code, you can save 30% on a yearly subscription!
11. Wall Calendar Featuring BC Landscapes
(Designed by Us)
Our custom calendar brings the beauty of British Columbia into their home. Each month showcases a stunning photograph of BC’s landscapes, complete with the name of the location. It’s perfect for inspiring new adventures all year long.
12. Wooden World Map
A wooden world map is a unique and thoughtful gift. Adventurers can mark the places they’ve been or dream about where they’ll go next. It’s both a decorative piece and a conversation starter.
Thoughtful Extras
A Canada National Park Pass unlocks access to some of the most incredible landscapes across the country. With a full year of unlimited entry, it’s a gift that keeps giving, encouraging unforgettable adventures.
14. Insulated Mug (Designed by Us)
Our insulated mugs are the perfect companion for a cozy coffee break, whether at camp, on a trail, or at home. They feature two unique designs:
• Panorama Ridge: A vibrant watercolor painting inspired by our own photograph of the iconic viewpoint.
• The Lions: A classic local. Captured from Cypress mountain, this watercolour painted mug will keep your coffee warm wherever you are.
Each design is a celebration of British Columbia’s natural beauty, offering not only practicality but also a personal connection to these stunning places.
If you live in the Vancouver area, here are some additional local outdoor experience ideas:
Avalanche course AST 1 on MOUNT SEYMOUR
With options ranging from practical gear to inspiring experiences, this list has something for every outdoor lover. Most of the gifts include affiliate links, helping us continue our journey, while our exclusive mugs and calendar are locally designed with love to share BC’s natural beauty.
